A Tiffany Studios New York glass and bronze "Chinese Geometric" table lamp, featuring a mottled orange, yellow, and green leaded glass shade atop an intricately sculpted patinated bronze base. The shade features a row of alternating rectangles and a scalloped border. The base is based on the Roman bronze tripods, used to hold cauldrons or braziers in the atriums of temples and villas. The tripod stands on feline-paw feet. Atop the central rod of each leg is an anthemion, a motif based on the petals of the honeysuckle flower. This is one of the few Tiffany lamps where the base and shade were exclusively shown together, making this as much a piece of illuminated sculpture as a functional lamp.
